На школьной площадке в горячей пыли
Мальчишка пытался подняться с земли.
Он плакал, обида глаза ему жгла -
И вниз по щекам со слезами текла.

Домой он приплелся, и маме сказал,
Что старший разбил ему нос и сбежал.

На поле сраженья, в горячечой мгле
Солдат молодой умирал на земле.
Последние силы собрал он и встал
Слова своей матери он прошептал:

"Итак, соберись, поднимайся с земли,
Не выиграть битвы, валяясь в пыли.
Плевать, что их много, а ты одинок -
Один в поле воин, запомни, сынок!"
