Next, we will look at the word “traffic.” Traffic is when there are lot of
cars or vehicles on the road at once. When there is a lot of traffic, the cars
move very slowly or stop altogether. An example sentence
with “traffic”
would be, “There is always a lot of traffic on highway 94.”
All right, now let’s look at telecommute. Telecommute or work

home, these are the lucky people that do not have to go...get in their car or
on the subway and fight their way t
o work every morning. People who
telecommute are people who work from home via the internet.
Let’s look at the word “shortcut.” Shortcut means
a shorter alternative
route. So, when someone goes a different way. An example sentence
with “shortcut” is,
“
My dad takes a shortcut when he gets stuck in traffic.”
All right, the next word “standstill” is when the cars in traffic totally stop
moving, may be because of an accident or something else that happened
on the road. An example sentence with “standstil
l” would be, “I heard
there is a standstill on the freeway, I am going to take the back
road
s
home
.”
And the last word we will talk about is “traffic jam.” Traffic jam is
similar to standstill. It’s... when there is a lot of traffic on the road or
cars, a
nd they are stopped moving or they were moving really slowly.
